Tom invented a time machine and invited his friend Sam to try it out. Excited, Sam stepped inside and asked, “Can you set it to just five minutes back? I want to grab a sandwich I forgot in the kitchen.” The machine whirred, lights flashed, and out popped Sam holding a slightly squished sandwich. But Tom looked puzzled and said, “Wait, that’s my sandwich from last week!” Sam blinked, then realized Tom had accidentally set the dial to ‘last week’ instead of five minutes. To fix it, Tom hurriedly adjusted the controls, but when Sam stepped out again, he was holding not a sandwich, but a giant prehistoric fern leaf. “I think you dialed the Jurassic period,” Sam said, inspecting the leafy snack. “Well, at least the time machine knows how to veganize,” Tom laughed as they both decided sandwiches taste better in the present.
